A new chapter is beginning for one of the South’s most recognized haunted attractions.

Formerly known as Scare House of the South, the attraction has officially rebranded as Scare Grounds of the South, marking a significant evolution as it prepares for the 2026 season.

While the name has changed, the core experience remains the same—delivering intense, high-quality horror. The rebrand reflects a broader vision: expanding beyond a single attraction into a fully immersive scream park experience with more to see, do, and explore.

Same Fear—Expanded Experience

Scare Grounds of the South continues to build on the foundation that earned national recognition in previous years, maintaining its focus on strong atmosphere, detailed environments, and high-impact scares.

The updated concept places an even greater emphasis on immersion and entertainment, creating a destination where guests are not just walking through a haunted house—but stepping into a larger, living environment.

Two New Headline Attractions

As part of the rebrand, guests can now experience two distinct haunted attractions, each offering a unique theme and style of fear:

Nightveil Manor

A sprawling, Victorian-inspired estate shrouded in mystery. Guests enter a once-grand home where its former residents withdrew from the outside world, isolating themselves before vanishing without a trace. What remains is a decaying manor filled with lingering spirits, unsettling silence, and a presence that never truly left.

Chronophobia: Terror Through Time

A high-intensity, multi-era experience centered around fractured timelines and unstable realities. Guests are pulled through different periods—where each environment introduces new threats, settings, and forms of terror. The attraction blends fast-paced transitions with immersive set design to create a constantly shifting nightmare.

Introducing the Midway Experience

Beyond the attractions themselves, Scare Grounds of the South now features a central midway, designed to extend the experience before and after entering the haunted environments.

The midway includes:

  • Food and drink options

  • Merchandise and themed retail

  • Interactive games and activities

  • Live entertainment and roaming characters

  • Photo opportunities and themed set pieces

This addition transforms the property into a more complete night-out experience, encouraging guests to spend more time on-site and engage with multiple forms of entertainment.

Expanding Beyond October

In addition to the fall season, Scare Grounds of the South is introducing special events throughout the year, expanding its presence beyond traditional Halloween operations.

Planned events include:

  • Director's Cut Night – A limited, more intense version of the experience

  • Christmas Haunt – A holiday-themed twist on horror

  • Valentine’s Haunt – A darker take on romance and relationships

  • Additional seasonal and themed events to be announced

These offerings provide new reasons for guests to return and experience the attraction in different ways across multiple seasons.

An Evolution of Fear

The rebrand arrives at a milestone moment, as the attraction enters a new era of fear. With this massive update, it has evolved from a single haunted experience into a recognized destination within the industry.

The transition to Scare Grounds of the South reflects both its history and its future—retaining the intensity that defined it while expanding into a larger, more immersive entertainment experience.

Editor’s Note

Scare Grounds of the South is the official name moving forward as part of the attraction’s 2026 season. Previous seasons operated under the name Scare House of the South.
